This year's medal features a WWI "Doughboy" helmet with the 1941 Jayhawk on one side and a red poppy on the other side.
Participants will receive the shirt below. Extra shirts can be purchased through the race registration site until Nov. 1.
The race begins and ends at the east side of KU Memorial Stadium on Mississippi Street.
The 5K route will follow Memorial Drive, which passes each of the five war memorials on campus. This W-shaped drive runs from West Campus Road east to Mississippi Street north of Snow, Strong and Bailey halls. It was designed to complement the Memorial Carillon and Campanile, honoring the 277 KU alumni, students, faculty and staff who died in World War II and the more than 7,000 who served.

Note: Due to safety reasons, the Memorial Stadium parking lot where the race begins/ends will be unavailable this year for parking.
Awards will be given out at the event to the to overall male and female 1st and 2nd place winners and overall Master's male and female 1st and 2nd place finishers.
Separate age group awards will be given as well to the first and second place male/female finishers in following age groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+.
All participants can check in at the KC Running Company tent for official times and to pick up awards. Awards must be picked up in-person and will not be mailed.
Photos will be taken at the event and will be available within a few days after the race at www.kcrunningcompany.com. Official race results will be available on the KC Running Company site as well as on this website.
